Forever and a Day

Reflections

Copyright 2006 by Christopher M Solaas.

This song is not necessarily Christian in nature. I wrote this when I was quite young, just graduated from High School. Odd though it may seem, I was reflecting at the time on the shortness of life, how many of my dreams had already come true, and how much I had to do before the end of life.

Lyrics

Verse 1:
Life is but a memory
Of what was told or used to be
For even in the raging sea
Thoughts of home drift back to me.

Verse 2:
I used to think that life was grand
But even time, held in the hand
Slips through the finger gaps like sand
My world is still a fairyland.

Chorus:
Dungeons may be dark and deep,
Mountains may be rough and steep
And I may work hard to earn my keep
But I still have a place to sleep.

Verse 3:
And though my life is just begun
I sometimes turn to face the sun
When one short day is almost done
And think about the dreams I've won.
